About Shepherd SOS

I’m Coach Doug, founder of Shepherd SOS, and I help owners of shepherd puppies and shepherd mixes build calmer, more confident, better-mannered dogs before small problems turn into bigger adult-dog issues.

My experience with dogs started long before this became a business. I grew up raising German Shepherds, Border Collies, and Belgian Malinois dogs, so I understand firsthand how intelligent, intense, loyal, sensitive, and driven these breeds can be. These are not average puppies, and they often do not respond well to average advice.

I have spent years learning how shepherd puppies develop, how behavior patterns form, and how structure, consistency, timing, and clear communication can shape a dog’s future.

I specialize in helping owners of shepherds and shepherd mixes with the problems that often overwhelm families early on: biting, crate chaos, barking, jumping, leash pulling, overstimulation, potty issues, resource-guarding concerns, and early signs of reactivity.

My approach is practical, honest, and focused on the real dog in front of me. I do not believe most owners need more random tips from the internet. They need someone who can look at their puppy, their routine, their home, and their challenges and help them understand what matters first.

At Shepherd SOS, my goal is simple: help you raise a stable, manageable, confident dog you can actually live with and enjoy.

Whether you are dealing with a German Shepherd, an Anatolian Shepherd, a Belgian Malinois, a Border Collie, a Shepherd mix, or another high-drive puppy, I’m here to help you create structure, reduce chaos, and build better habits before things get worse.
